This journey takes you through some of Uganda’s most remarkable destinations, including Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, offering a perfect blend of adventure and nature. This 4-Day Uganda Safari offers a perfect opportunity to experience chimpanzees at Kyambura Gorge, mountain gorillas, tree-climbing lions, breathtaking landscapes, and authentic cultural encounters all within one incredible adventure in the Pearl of Africa.

Day 1: Pickup from Entebbe or Kampala and Transfer to Queen National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from Entebbe or Kampala by our professional safari guide from Afoyo African Safaris. You will start the scenic drive towards western Uganda through beautiful countryside landscapes, traditional villages, rolling hills, and lush green plantations.

Along the way, you will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Country Hotel & Cultural Centre, where you can enjoy delicious local and international cuisine while experiencing the rich Ankole culture.

After lunch, continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations known for its diverse ecosystems, abundant wildlife, and stunning scenery. Upon arrival, enjoy an evening game drive through the savannah plains where you may encounter elephants, buffalo, antelopes, warthogs, and various bird species as the sun sets over the park. Dinner and an overnight stay at Pumba Safari Cottages on full board basis.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in the underground forest of Kyambura Gorge. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you will trek through the tropical forest searching for habituated chimpanzees while also spotting monkeys, birds, and unique plant species.

After the chimpanzee tracking adventure, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the famous Ishasha sector, widely known for its rare tree-climbing lions. During the drive, you will have opportunities to spot these magnificent lions resting in fig trees alongside elephants, topis, and buffalo roaming across the savannah.

Arrive in Bwindi in the evening, surrounded by mist-covered hills and dense rainforest, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Dinner and an overnight stay at Ride 4 A Woman Guesthouse on a full board basis.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, head into the ancient rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the once-in-a-lifetime mountain gorilla trekking experience. The trek can take a few hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family, but the moment you encounter these gentle giants in their natural habitat becomes one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences in the world. You will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact within the forest.

After lunch and relaxation at the lodge, enjoy an afternoon Batwa cultural experience where you will meet the indigenous Batwa community and learn about their traditional forest lifestyle, music, dance, hunting skills, and ancient cultural heritage that existed long before the forest became a protected national park. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Ride 4 A Woman Guesthouse on full board basis.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe or Kampala

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe or Kampala with scenic views of Uganda’s rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and local communities along the way. You will have stopovers for lunch and photography before continuing to the city.

Arrival will be in the evening in time for your international flight back home or drop-off at your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable Uganda primate and wildlife safari.
